The short version
- Files you open in AnyShift file tools are processed locally in your browser. They are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
- We do not require accounts and do not collect names, emails or payment details to use the tools.
- Some tools save your own preferences (for example, your business details in the invoice generator) in your browser's local storage. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
- The site is funded by third-party advertising, which may use cookies or similar technologies.
Tools that contact a server
A small number of tools must fetch data from the internet to work: URL-based SEO checkers (redirect, HTTP header, status code, broken link, Open Graph and Twitter Card previews), the YouTube transcript fetcher, the grammar checker (LanguageTool) and the caption translator. Only the URL or text you submit to those tools is sent, solely to produce the result; we do not keep it. AI models used by some tools (speech recognition, background removal, OCR) are downloaded to your browser from public model repositories and then run locally.
Advertising
We work with advertising partners such as Adsterra. These partners may set cookies, read device identifiers or use similar technologies to show and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted. You can control cookies in your browser settings and opt out of personalised advertising through your device or industry opt-out tools.
Analytics and logs
Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, time) for security and reliability. These logs are not combined with any file content, because file content never reaches our servers.
Children
AnyShift is a general-audience service and is not directed at children under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the UK/EU GDPR, or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
