What is the Grade Percentage Calculator?
A grade calculator works out your current course grade from weighted assignments using weighted grade = Σ(score × weight) ÷ Σ weights. For example, homework at 92% (weight 20%), quizzes at 84% (15%), a midterm at 78% (25%) and a project at 88% (15%) average to 84.93%, a B, with 25% of the course still to go.
You can switch modes to find the grade you need on the final exam, using needed = (target − current × (1 − final weight)) ÷ final weight, or to convert points earned into a percentage and letter grade.

Frequently asked questions
What score do I need on my final exam?
Use needed = (target − current × (1 − w)) ÷ w. With 84% now and a final worth 25%, you need 88% to finish on 85%, and only 28% to keep a 70%.
How do I calculate a weighted grade?
Multiply each score by its weight, add the results and divide by the total weight. 90% on work worth 40% and 80% on work worth 60% gives (36 + 48) ÷ 100 = 84%.
What percentage is a B?
On the common US scale, a B is 83–86%, a B+ is 87–89% and a B− is 80–82%. An A starts at 93% and an A− at 90%. Schools set their own cut-offs, so check your syllabus.
What if my weights don’t add up to 100%?
That’s fine. The calculator divides by the weights you’ve entered, giving your grade on the work graded so far, and shows how much weight remains.
How do I convert points to a percentage?
Divide the points earned by the points possible and multiply by 100. 43 out of 50 is 86%, which is a B.
Why does it say my target is out of reach?
If you would need more than 100% on the final, the target can’t be reached without extra credit. Try a lower target to see the best realistic result.
