What is the UK Notice Period Calculator?
A UK notice period calculator applies section 86 of the Employment Rights Act 1996. An employer must give at least 1 week’s notice once you have one month’s service. From two years’ service it’s 1 week per complete year, up to a maximum of 12 weeks. An employee who resigns must give at least 1 week’s notice after one month’s service. If your contract gives a longer notice period, the longer one applies.
Enter your start date and the date notice is given to see the statutory minimum, the notice that applies and the date it ends.
